Undergraduate Degree Programs

 

 

Financial Management

Objectives of Talent Cultivation:

The Financial Management program aims to cultivate internationalized application-oriented senior financial management experts who are equipped with economics and management knowledge, who can grasp advanced financial management theories and methods, who have high levels of English language proficiency, to work for export-oriented enterprises and institutions under the background of economic globalization.

Feature of Teaching:

Theoretical courses are taught by professional teachers in theory plus case study mode, while practice courses are co-opened with KPMG to adapt the mode of theory plus practical training, to demonstrate the program’s features of being professional-skills- and-application based.

Advantage of Cultivation:

This program has co-established a practice and teaching base with KPMG Delivery Center. Through the training courses and joint cooperation with KPMG, students are required to  be familiar with China's financial management, accounting and taxation policies, regulations and international practices and guidelines; be able to use financial management methods and tools to conduct various types of financial and accounting business related to a variety of enterprises and institutions; with strong communicative skills, as well as skills and abilities to analyze and solve practical problems in capital management work.

Curriculum Setting:

Module 1: Advanced Mathematics, Accounting Principles, Management Principles, Macro Economics, Micro Economics, Marketing and other basic courses;

Module 2: Financial Management, Principles of Finance, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Financial Marketing, Cost Management Accounting, Investment Project Evaluation, Audit Theory and Practice, Financial Statement Analysis, Business English Listening and Speaking, Business English Writing and other core courses;

Module 3: Accounting?Computerization, Accounting Simulation Experiment, Business Decision of Enterprise Simulation and other practice courses.


Financial Management (SCNU-Curtin Double Bachelor Degree Program)

Students of this program spend the first 2 years studying at SCNU, and the training plan is similar to the Financial Management program. SCNU and Curtin University co-establish course modules, part of which are taught in both Chinese and English, while others are taught only in English. In the 3rd year, students who meet Curtin’s entry requirements spend their 3rd year and 1 semester of the 4th years’ study at Curtin. Students return to SCNU for the program’s final semester. Students who meet the graduation requirements of both universities will be granted a SCNU diploma, bachelor’s degree and Curtin bachelor’s degree. Students who do not meet Curtin’s entry requirements can continue their study with ordinary SCNU’s Financial Management program and be granted SCNU diploma and bachelor’s degree provided that they passed all the academic requirements.

 

French

Objectives of Talent Cultivation:

The French program aims at cultivating talented senior professionals who have solid French skills and a rich knowledge of the French language, literature and culture, with proficient French application ability, strong intercultural communication skills and high comprehensive humanistic quality, whose work or further study is focused on foreign-related areas such as interpretation, foreign affairs, foreign trade, education, research and management.

Feature of Teaching:

The major cultivation plan and course plan are based on the National Standards for the Quality of Undergraduate Majors in Higher Education Institute and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The program cooperates with French universities to develop main courses, and adapts The ”Neurolinguistic Approach (NLA)” in the teaching.

Advantage of Cultivation:

The program has established partnership with multiple domestic and international universities and institutes, such as: ACPF, AUF, Université de Tours, Université de Picardie Jules Verne - Amiens, Université de Bourgogne, Université de Nice, Université Catholique de Louvain, etc. Students have plenty of chances to exchange abroad.

Curriculum Setting:

Module 1: Language courses: Basic French, Advanced French, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Interpreting and Translation, etc;

Module 2: Culture courses: Introduction of French Speaking Regions, French Literature, Selected Readings of French Press, etc;

Module 3: Business courses: Economics, International Business, Enterprise Management, International Business Law, Marketing, etc.


Finance (SCNU-AU Undergraduate Finance Program)

Objectives of Talent Cultivation:

This program is jointly run by IBC, SCNU and the Business School of the University of Aberdeen (AU).  The program aims to cultivate high quality interdisciplinary specialists who are equipped with professional knowledge, theories, skills and comprehensive abilities in economics, finance, management and law, and who are able to make investment and financing analysis and decision making in finance industry, especially in the real estate finance industry, and who can be involved in administration in related areas, as well as proficient English skills, cross-cultural background and global perspective.

Feature of Teaching:

This program adopts the Scottish teaching model, with a four-year school system and 4+0 training model. The cultivation scheme is co-designed by both universities.  Students who attain all the credits required by the scheme and met the academic requirements of the two universities will be granted the SCNU diploma and a bachelor's degree. Students can choose to exchange in AU according to their own learning ability and English proficiency during the period of studying. If students meet the requirements of AU degree, they can apply for AU’s bachelor's degree in real estate finance.

Advantage of Cultivation:

Besides excellent domestic teachers, the program employs outstanding international ESL professionals to teach English courses. The general disciplinary courses, professional courses and professional selective courses are taught in pure English or bilingually. The core courses introduced from AU account for over one third of all the core courses and are taught by AU teachers. Students are also taught general education courses, including Western Culture, Chinese Culture and Cross-cultural Communication to improve understanding and adaptability to different culture.

The courses offered in the Finance program include: Enterprise Accounting, Micro and Macro Economics, Investment, Financial Marketing, Principle of Assets Evaluation, Financial Management, Corporate Finance, International Finance, Financial Empirical Research Methods, the Internet Financial and Financial Technology, Currency Finance, Land and Real Estate Economics, Real Estate Finance, International Financial Management, Financial Risk Management, Financial Statement Analysis, etc.
